Hermes and Theodora

Holy Martyrs Hermes and Theodora, brother and sister, who suffered together for Christ.

Hermes and Theodora were siblings who confessed the Christian faith together and were put to death for it. The Greek synaxaria list them among the martyrs commemorated on the first of April.

Tradition relates only that they endured their martyrdom side by side, encouraging one another until the end.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Hermes and Theodora is commemorated on April 1. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on April 14 of the civil calendar.
