St. Hermes was one of the Seventy Apostles, greeted by St. Paul in his Epistle to the Romans. Tradition relates that he became Bishop of Dalmatia and labored there in preaching the Gospel.
The Greek synaxarion keeps his memory on March 8, and he is also commemorated with the Seventy on January 4.
