Holy Martyr Faustus, crucified for Christ.
St. Faustus was a Christian who confessed Christ during the persecution of Decius. Tradition relates that he was crucified and remained alive on the cross for five days before giving up his soul.
He is honored as a martyr who endured to the end.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Faustus the Martyr is commemorated on July 16. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 29 of the civil calendar.
