  Athenogenes

  Hierarch, Αθηνογένης

  St. Athenogenes was a bishop in the region of Sebaste who suffered martyrdom with a company of his disciples during the persecutions at the turn of the fourth century. Refusing to deny Christ, he strengthened his spiritual children as they went before him to death, and then received the crown of martyrdom himself.

  St. Faustus was a Christian who confessed Christ during the persecution of Decius. Tradition relates that he was crucified and remained alive on the cross for five days before giving up his soul.

• Antiochos and Kyriakos the Executioner

  Martyr, Αντίοχος και Κυριακός

  St. Antiochos was a physician of Sebaste in Cappadocia, brother of the Martyr Platon, who traveled healing the sick and preaching Christ. Arrested, he endured tortures unharmed, and when he was beheaded, tradition relates that milk flowed instead of blood.

  The Fifteen Thousand Martyrs of Pisidia are commemorated as a great company of Christians who suffered for Christ in that region of Asia Minor. Tradition relates that they were put to the sword.
