Lazaros of Tripolis

New Hieromartyr Lazaros, priest of Tripolis in the Peloponnese.

St. Lazaros was a priest from Tripolis in the Peloponnese, born to pious parents. His service and synaxarion are preserved in a manuscript of the Monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos.

He confessed Christ before the Turks and received the crown of martyrdom.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Lazaros of Tripolis is commemorated on February 23. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on March 8 (a day earlier in leap years) of the civil calendar.
