Venerable Leontius the Myrrh-gusher of Dionysiou Monastery on Mount Athos.
Saint Leontius came from Argos and became a monk of the monastery of Dionysiou on Mount Athos, where tradition relates that he lived for sixty years without ever leaving the monastery. He was granted the gift of foresight, and after his repose in 1605 his relics flowed with myrrh.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Leontius the Athonite, Myrrh-gusher is commemorated on June 18. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 1 of the civil calendar.
