  Leontios

  Martyr, Λεόντιος

  The Holy Martyr Leontios was a soldier of Greek descent who suffered for Christ at Tripoli in Phoenicia in the early centuries of the Church. A man of courage and charity, he confessed the Lord before his accusers, and tradition tells that his steadfastness under torment brought even those sent against him to faith in Christ, so that they shared his martyrdom.

• Leontius the Athonite, Myrrh-gusher

  Venerable, Λεόντιος ο Αθωνίτης ο Μυροβλήτης

  Saint Leontius came from Argos and became a monk of the monastery of Dionysiou on Mount Athos, where tradition relates that he lived for sixty years without ever leaving the monastery. He was granted the gift of foresight, and after his repose in 1605 his relics flowed with myrrh.

• Leontius the Canonarch of the Kiev Caves

  Venerable, Λεόντιος ο Κανονάρχης

  Saint Leontius served as canonarch, the leader of the chanting, at the Kiev Caves Lavra while still very young, in the fourteenth century. He died in youth, and his relics rest in the Far Caves of the Lavra.

• Aetherius the Martyr

  Martyr, Αιθέριος

  Saint Aetherius is remembered in the synaxaria as a martyr who confessed Christ and was beheaded during the persecutions. The details of his contest have not been preserved.
