Maximus of Ephesus

Holy Martyr Maximus of Ephesus, who suffered under Decius.

Maximus was a Christian of Ephesus who, in the persecution of the emperor Decius, presented himself before the proconsul and confessed Christ. He refused to sacrifice to the idols.

He was stoned to death in the third century.

On the New Calendar, Maximus of Ephesus is commemorated on April 30. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on May 13 of the civil calendar.
