Venerable Palamon, teacher of Saint Pachomios the Great.
Saint Palamon was a hermit of the Egyptian Thebaid in the fourth century, known for his severe asceticism. He received the young Pachomios as his disciple and trained him in the monastic life.
He reposed in peace, and through his disciple he stands at the root of cenobitic monasticism.
