Paul the Obedient

Venerable Paul the Obedient.

Venerable Paul is remembered for his perfect monastic obedience. Tradition relates that at his elder's command he thrust his hand into a burning furnace and was unharmed, and that he reposed in peace after a life of humility.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Paul the Obedient is commemorated on December 7. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 20 of the civil calendar.
