Peter the Wonderworker, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Russia, first hierarch of Moscow.
Peter was a monk and iconographer of Volhynia who was made Metropolitan of Kiev and All Russia in the early fourteenth century. He transferred his residence to the rising city of Moscow, where he founded the cathedral of the Dormition, and reposed in peace in 1326. He is honoured as one of the great wonderworkers of Moscow.

On the New Calendar, Peter of Moscow is commemorated on December 21. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on January 3 of the civil calendar.
