Theophilos of Crete

Holy Martyr Theophilos and those who suffered with him in Crete.

St. Theophilos and his companions were martyrs of Crete whose names the Greek synaxaria record for March 31. Tradition relates that they confessed Christ before the pagan authorities of the island and were put to death for the faith.

The Church keeps their memory on this day.

On the New Calendar, Theophilos of Crete is commemorated on March 31. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on April 13 of the civil calendar.
