Venerable Abramios, Archimandrite of Smolensk, wonderworker.
Saint Abramios was a monk and preacher of Smolensk in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, learned in the Scriptures and a painter of icons. Slandered and tried by his enemies, he was vindicated and made archimandrite of a monastery in the city.
He reposed in peace and is honoured as a wonderworker.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Abramios of Smolensk is commemorated on August 21. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on September 3 of the civil calendar.
