Anastasius the Fuller

Holy Martyr Anastasius the Fuller of Salona in Dalmatia.

The holy martyr Anastasius was a cloth-fuller of Salona in Dalmatia in the time of Diocletian. Tradition relates that he painted a cross on the door of his workshop, and when he refused to deny Christ, he was drowned in the sea with a stone tied to his neck.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Anastasius the Fuller is commemorated on December 5. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 18 of the civil calendar.
