The unnamed New Martyr of Crete, who suffered in Alexandria.
This New Martyr was a young Cretan whose name has not been preserved. Tradition relates that, having been forced into apostasy, he repented and confessed Christ before the authorities in Alexandria of Egypt.
He was beheaded in 1811 and is honored among the New Martyrs of Crete.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Anonymous New Martyr of Crete is commemorated on July 31. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 13 of the civil calendar.
