Venerable Antony of Siya, founder of a monastery in the Russian north.
Venerable Antony was born in the region of Novgorod in the fifteenth century and, after the death of his wife, became a monk. He founded a monastery on the river Siya in the far north of Russia, where he laboured in great austerity and was known as a wonderworker. He reposed in peace in 1556.

On the New Calendar, Antony of Siya is commemorated on December 6. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 19 of the civil calendar.
