Athanasios of Corinth

Venerable Athanasios, Bishop of Corinth, an ascetic hierarch of the Byzantine period.

Athanasios was a monk who was raised to the see of Corinth, traditionally placed in the tenth century. He governed the church of Corinth with gentleness and kept his monastic discipline as a bishop.

He reposed in peace and is remembered in the Greek synaxarion on May 4.
