Athanasius of Pentaschoinon

Venerable Athanasius the wonderworker of Pentaschoinon in Cyprus.

Saint Athanasius lived the ascetic life at Pentaschoinon near Larnaca in Cyprus and is honoured there as a wonderworker. Tradition relates that he was an obedient youth who died young and was revealed as a saint through miracles at his tomb, where a church was built in his name.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Athanasius of Pentaschoinon is commemorated on June 20. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 3 of the civil calendar.
