Holy Martyr Chrysogonus, teacher of the Great Martyr Anastasia.
The holy martyr Chrysogonus was a Christian of Rome who instructed St. Anastasia in the faith. Imprisoned under Diocletian, he was taken to Aquileia and beheaded for his confession of Christ.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Chrysogonus the Martyr is commemorated on December 22. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on January 4 of the civil calendar.
