St. Theodote was a Christian widow of Nicaea in Bithynia who, with her three young sons, was arrested for the faith during the persecution of Diocletian. Tradition relates that she encouraged her children to remain steadfast.
Mother and children were burned together, receiving the crown of martyrdom as one family.
December 22
The holy martyr Theodote was a widow of Nicaea and a companion of St. Anastasia in the persecution of Diocletian. Refusing to deny Christ or to marry a pagan, she was burned to death together with her three young children.
