  Kallinikos

  Martyr, Καλλίνικος

  St. Kallinikos was a Christian of Asia Minor who traveled from place to place preaching Christ and turning many from the worship of idols. Seized during the persecutions, he was brought to Gangra in Paphlagonia, where after cruel torments he was condemned to death by fire, and gave up his soul to God with thanksgiving.

• Theodote and her Three Children

  Holy Woman, Θεοδότη

  St. Theodote was a Christian widow of Nicaea in Bithynia who, with her three young sons, was arrested for the faith during the persecution of Diocletian. Tradition relates that she encouraged her children to remain steadfast.

• Theodosios the Younger

  Saint, Θεοδόσιος ο Μικρός

  St. Theodosios the Younger was Emperor of the East from 408 to 450, the son of Arcadius and grandson of Theodosios the Great. He was known for piety and learning, and during his reign the Third Ecumenical Council was convened at Ephesus.

• John the Soldier

  Martyr, Ιωάννης ο Στρατιώτης

  St. John the Soldier served in the army of the emperor Julian the Apostate and was ordered to persecute Christians; instead he secretly helped them, warning them and aiding the poor. Imprisoned for this, he was freed after Julian's death and lived out his days in works of mercy.
