Holy New Monk-Martyr Damaskenos of Constantinople, martyred in 1681.
Saint Damaskenos was born in Galata of Constantinople and became a monk. Tradition relates that after a lapse he repented and, seeking to make amends, publicly confessed Christ before the Ottoman authorities.
He was beheaded in Constantinople in 1681.

On the New Calendar, Damaskenos the New Martyr is commemorated on November 13. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 26 of the civil calendar.
