Domninos of Thessalonica

Holy Martyr Domninos, who suffered at Thessalonica under Maximian.

Domninos was a Christian of Thessalonica who openly confessed Christ when the emperor Maximian was residing in the city. Brought before him, he refused to sacrifice to the idols and was cruelly tortured.

Tradition relates that his legs were broken and he was left outside the city, where after some days he gave up his soul to God around the end of the third century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Domninos of Thessalonica is commemorated on October 1. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on October 14 of the civil calendar.
