Fausta, Evilasios and Maximos

Virgin Martyr Fausta of Cyzicus, with Evilasios and Maximos whom she converted.

St. Fausta was a young Christian maiden of Cyzicus who was arrested under Maximian and handed over to the pagan priest Evilasios for torture. Amazed at her endurance, Evilasios came to believe in Christ and was tortured in turn.

The governor Maximos, seeing their steadfastness, also confessed Christ, and all three received the crown of martyrdom together.

On the New Calendar, Fausta, Evilasios and Maximos is commemorated on February 6. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 19 of the civil calendar.
