Ignatius of Loma

Venerable Ignatius of Loma and Yaroslavl.

Venerable Ignatius was a Russian monk of the sixteenth century who founded a hermitage at Loma in the region of Yaroslavl, where he lived in poverty and prayer. He reposed in peace in 1591.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Ignatius of Loma is commemorated on December 28. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on January 10 of the civil calendar.
