Indes, Gorgonius and the Martyrs of Nicomedia

Holy Martyrs Indes, Gorgonius, Peter, Zeno, Dorotheus, Mardonius, Glycerius, Migdonius and Theophilus of Nicomedia.

These holy martyrs suffered at Nicomedia in the great persecution of Diocletian, together with the multitude of Christians burned in the church of the city. Several of them, including Gorgonius, Peter and Dorotheus, were officials of the imperial palace who confessed Christ openly; the priest Glycerius, the deacon Migdonius and the eunuch Indes were put to death with them in various ways.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Indes, Gorgonius and the Martyrs of Nicomedia is commemorated on December 28. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on January 10 of the civil calendar.
