Holy Martyrs Melasippus, his wife Kasine, their son Antoninus and forty children at Ancyra.
Saints Melasippus and Kasine were a Christian couple of Ancyra who, with their young son Antoninus, were arrested under Julian the Apostate. The parents were tortured to death before the eyes of their son, who then confessed Christ himself and was beheaded.
Tradition relates that forty children who witnessed their courage believed in Christ and were martyred with them.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Melasippus, Kasine and Antoninus is commemorated on November 7. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 20 of the civil calendar.
