Onesimus was Archbishop of Ephesus, one of the ancient apostolic sees of Asia Minor. The Synaxarion records that he shepherded his flock in holiness and reposed in peace; the Church also remembers on this day his fellow hierarchs of Ephesus, Ananias and Solochon.
