Paul the Physician of Corinth

Venerable Paul the physician of Corinth, ascetic falsely accused and vindicated by a miracle.

Saint Paul was a physician of Corinth who became a monk. Tradition relates that a woman falsely accused him of fathering her child and that the infant, only days old, spoke to declare his innocence. He lived thereafter in great asceticism, gifted with healing, and reposed at an advanced age in the seventh century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Paul the Physician of Corinth is commemorated on June 28. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on July 11 of the civil calendar.
