Holy Martyrs Philemon, Apollonius, Arrian and the four Protectors, at Antinoe in Egypt.
These holy martyrs suffered at Antinoe in Egypt under Diocletian. Philemon, a pagan flute-player, was converted when he took the place of the Christian Apollonius before the governor Arrian; both were put to death. Tradition relates that Arrian himself later believed and was martyred together with four of his bodyguards, the Protectors.

On the New Calendar, Philemon, Apollonius and Arrian is commemorated on December 14. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on December 27 of the civil calendar.
