Philetairos of Nicomedia

Holy Martyr Philetairos of Nicomedia.

The holy martyr Philetairos was a Christian of Nicomedia who confessed Christ under Diocletian. Tradition relates that he endured many tortures and exile, and that he brought others to faith before his death.

On the New Calendar, Philetairos of Nicomedia is commemorated on December 30. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on January 12 of the civil calendar.
