Theodotos of Kyrenia

Hieromartyr Theodotos, Bishop of Kyrenia in Cyprus, confessor under Licinius.

St. Theodotos was Bishop of Kyrenia in Cyprus in the early fourth century. During the persecution of Licinius he was arrested and subjected to severe tortures for his confession of Christ, enduring them with such courage that many pagans who witnessed his sufferings came to faith.

When St. Constantine granted peace to the Church he was released, returned to his flock, and reposed in peace some years later. The Church honors him as a hieromartyr and confessor on March 2.
