Zabulon and Sosanna

Righteous Zabulon and Sosanna, parents of Saint Nina, Enlightener of Georgia.

Zabulon, a Cappadocian nobleman related to Saint George, and his wife Sosanna, sister of the Patriarch of Jerusalem, were the parents of Saint Nina. Tradition relates that they gave themselves to the service of God, Zabulon in the wilderness of the Jordan and Sosanna in caring for the poor in Jerusalem.

The Georgian Church honors them on May 20.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Zabulon and Sosanna is commemorated on May 20. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on June 2 of the civil calendar.
