  Osee the Prophet

  The holy Prophet Hosea was one of the twelve minor prophets, who prophesied in the northern kingdom of Israel in the eighth century before Christ. Through the image of his own sorrowful marriage he proclaimed the unfailing love of God for His unfaithful people, calling Israel to repentance with words of both judgment and tenderness.

• Andrew of Crete the Monk-Martyr

  Martyr, Ανδρέας ο εν τη Κρίσει

  Andrew was a monk of Crete who, hearing of the iconoclast persecution of Constantine Copronymus, went to Constantinople and rebuked the emperor to his face in the church of Saint Mamas.

• Kosmas and Damianos of Arabia

  Martyr, Κοσμάς, Δαμιανός, Λεόντιος, Άνθιμος και Ευπρέπιος

  These Kosmas and Damianos, distinct from the Unmercenaries of Asia and of Rome, were physicians of Arabia who healed freely in the name of Christ. They were seized at Aegae in Cilicia in the persecution of Diocletian and, when torments failed to harm them, were beheaded with their three brothers around 287.

  After the Lord raised him from the dead, Lazarus fled the hatred of the Jews and came to Cyprus, where he was made Bishop of Kition and served for many years before his second death.
