  Trophimos the Apostle

  St. Trophimos was an early confessor of Christ who suffered in Asia Minor during the persecutions of the third century, together with his companions Sabbatios and Dorymedon. Refusing to take part in pagan festivity, they confessed the faith before their judges and endured torture and death for the name of Christ.

• Theodore of Tarsus, Archbishop of Canterbury

  St. Theodore was a Greek monk born at Tarsus in Cilicia who was living in Rome when, in 668, he was consecrated Archbishop of Canterbury at an advanced age. He organized the dioceses of England, founded a school at Canterbury where Greek and Latin learning flourished, and united the English Church under one order.

• Theodore of Smolensk and his sons David and Constantine

  Saint, Θεόδωρος, Δαβίδ και Κωνσταντίνος

  St. Theodore was a prince of Smolensk and Yaroslavl in the thirteenth century, in the years of the Mongol yoke, who ruled with justice and built churches in his lands, and received the monastic tonsure before his death in 1299. His sons David and Constantine followed him in piety.

• Zosimas the Hermit of Cilicia

  St. Zosimas was a hermit of Cilicia in the fourth century who lived in the wilderness in such purity that, tradition relates, the wild beasts came to him without fear. Found by a hunting party of the governor and brought before him, he confessed Christ and endured torments.
