Abramios of Galich

Venerable Abramios of Galich and Chukhloma, disciple of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

St. Abramios was a disciple of St. Sergius of Radonezh who withdrew to the wilderness near Galich in northern Russia, where he founded several monasteries. He labored in preaching to the local people.

He reposed in peace in the fourteenth century.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Abramios of Galich is commemorated on July 20. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 2 of the civil calendar.
