Agathokleia the Martyr

Holy Martyr Agathokleia, servant girl who suffered for Christ.

St. Agathokleia was a Christian servant in the household of a pagan couple, Nicholas and Paulina. Tradition relates that her mistress tormented her for years to make her deny Christ, and at last, unable to break her, put her to death.

She is commemorated on September 17.
