Holy Martyrs Acindynus, Pigasius and companions.
The holy martyrs Akindynos, Pegasios, Aphthonios, Elpidophoros, and Anempodistos were Christians of Persia who suffered in the fourth century, during a fierce persecution of the Church in that land. Refusing to deny Christ, they endured many torments and were put to death, and their steadfastness drew others to the faith.
The Church honors them as a company of confessors whose courage strengthened the persecuted Christians of Persia. They are commemorated on November 2.
Feast day
On the New Calendar, Akindynos and companions is commemorated on November 2. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 15 of the civil calendar.
