Saint Alexander, Patriarch of Alexandria, who first condemned Arius.
Alexander became Patriarch of Alexandria in 313 and was the first to expose and condemn the heresy of his priest Arius, who denied the divinity of the Son. He took part in the Council of Nicaea in 325 with his deacon Athanasios, who succeeded him.
He reposed in 328.
