New Martyr Andreas Argentis of Chios, beheaded in Constantinople.
Andreas Argentis was a Christian of Chios who, tradition relates, was accused of insulting Islam while in Constantinople and, refusing to convert to save his life, was beheaded in 1465.
He is honored among the early New Martyrs of the Ottoman period.
