Theodosia of Tyre

Virgin Martyr Theodosia of Tyre, drowned at Caesarea for her faith.

Theodosia was a young Christian of Tyre who, visiting Caesarea in Palestine, went to comfort the confessors awaiting judgment. Arrested herself, she refused to sacrifice and was tortured and cast into the sea.

She suffered around the year 308 during the persecution of Diocletian and Maximian.

On the New Calendar, Theodosia of Tyre is commemorated on May 29. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on June 11 of the civil calendar.
