Argyrios of Epanomi

New Martyr Argyrios of Epanomi, a young tailor hanged at Thessalonica for confessing Christ.

Argyrios was born in Epanomi near Thessalonica in the late eighteenth century and worked as a tailor in the city. When a Christian who had apostatized was being taken to be judged, Argyrios openly urged him to return to Christ, and was himself arrested.

Refusing all pressure to embrace Islam, he was hanged in Thessalonica in 1806 at the age of about eighteen.
