Righteous Ariadne, Empress of Byzantium.
Saint Ariadne was the daughter of Emperor Leo I and wife of the Emperors Zeno and Anastasios. She was known for her piety and works of charity in the capital.
She reposed in peace in the early sixth century.

On the New Calendar, Ariadne the Empress is commemorated on August 22. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on September 4 of the civil calendar.
