Babylas of Sicily

Hieromartyr Babylas of Sicily and his disciples Timothy and Agapios.

St. Babylas was a priest who left his home in the East for Sicily, where he lived in asceticism with his disciples Timothy and Agapios and drew many to Christ. Tradition relates that pagans seized the three and put them to death.

They are commemorated on January 24.

On the New Calendar, Babylas of Sicily is commemorated on January 24. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on February 6 of the civil calendar.
