Capitolina and Erotheis

Holy Martyrs Capitolina and her servant Erotheis of Cappadocia.

Capitolina was a wealthy noblewoman of Cappadocia who freed her slaves and gave her goods to the poor before presenting herself to the governor as a Christian. She was beheaded around 304.

Her maid Erotheis, seeing this, threw stones at the governor, confessed Christ, and was beheaded the following day.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Capitolina and Erotheis is commemorated on October 27. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 9 of the civil calendar.
