New Martyr Christodoulos of Kassandra, who suffered in Thessaloniki.
St. Christodoulos was from Kassandra in Chalkidiki and worked as a tailor in Thessaloniki. Tradition relates that, grieved by the apostasy of a Christian, he openly confessed Christ before the Ottoman judge.
He was hanged in Thessaloniki in 1777 and is honored among the New Martyrs.

On the New Calendar, Christodoulos of Kassandra is commemorated on July 27. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on August 9 of the civil calendar.
