Christos and Panagos

Holy New Martyrs Christos the Priest and Panagos.

Sts. Christos the priest and Panagos were New Martyrs of the Ottoman period commemorated in the Greek synaxaria on March 9. Tradition relates that they were seized by the Turkish authorities and put to death for refusing to deny the Christian faith.

The Church keeps their memory together on this day.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Christos and Panagos is commemorated on March 9. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on March 22 of the civil calendar.
