Blessed Cleopatra of Palestine, who honored the relics of the Martyr Varus.
Cleopatra was a widow of Edra near Mount Tabor whose husband had been a Roman officer in Egypt. Witnessing the martyrdom of Saint Varus, she secretly recovered his body and brought it home to Palestine, where she built a church in his honor.
Tradition relates that when her only son John died on the day of the church's consecration, Varus and the boy appeared to her in glory; she lived the rest of her life in prayer beside the church and reposed in peace in the fourth century.
