Prophet Joel.
The holy Prophet Joel was one of the twelve minor prophets, who prophesied in the kingdom of Judah. In a time of devastation he called the people to fasting and heartfelt repentance, and he foretold the day when God would pour out His Spirit upon all flesh.
That prophecy was fulfilled at Pentecost, when the Apostle Peter proclaimed Joel's words to the crowds in Jerusalem at the descent of the Holy Spirit. He is commemorated on October 19.

On the New Calendar, Joel the Prophet is commemorated on October 19. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 1 of the civil calendar.
