Feast day October 19

Holy Hieromartyr Sadoth, Bishop of Persia, and the one hundred and twenty-eight martyrs with him.

Sadoth succeeded Saint Symeon as Bishop of Seleucia-Ctesiphon in Persia during the persecution of King Shapur II. Arrested with his clergy and many of the faithful, he refused to worship the sun.

After months of imprisonment and torture he was beheaded with one hundred and twenty-eight companions around 342.

Feast day

On the New Calendar, Sadoth of Persia is commemorated on October 19. Churches on the Old (Julian) Calendar keep the feast on November 1 of the civil calendar.
